This Privacy Policy explains how B F S Commercial Brokers LLC (trading as Businesses For Sale, "we", "us", "our") collects, uses, stores, and protects personal information when you interact with our website, our Instagram account (@bfs.dubai), our WhatsApp business line, or any of our other contact channels.
We are a UAE-licensed business brokerage based in Dubai. We connect buyers, sellers, tenants, and landlords for businesses across the UAE.
1. Information We Collect
We only collect information that helps us respond to your inquiry and match you with the right business opportunity.
1.1 Information you give us directly
- Contact details — your name, email address, and phone number, when you fill out a form on our website or share them in a message.
- Inquiry details — what kind of business you're looking to buy, sell, lease, or operate; budget; preferred locations; timing.
- Documents — when relevant to a transaction (e.g. NDAs, financial statements), with your explicit consent.
1.2 Information collected when you contact us via Instagram
- Your public Instagram username and profile picture.
- The content of any comment you leave on our posts, and which post the comment was on.
- The content of any direct message you send us.
- An internal user ID assigned by Instagram (so we can recognise you across multiple comments or messages).
1.3 Information collected when you contact us via WhatsApp
- Your phone number.
- The content of messages you send us, including text, images, and documents.
- Delivery and read receipts for messages we send you.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect only for the following purposes:
- To respond to your inquiry about a business listing.
- To match you with relevant businesses, buyers, or sellers.
- To send you follow-up messages about businesses you've shown interest in.
- To allow our brokers to provide personalised assistance.
- To meet our legal and regulatory obligations as a UAE-licensed brokerage.
We do not use your information for advertising to third parties, profiling, or any purpose unrelated to the brokerage services you've contacted us about.
3. Instagram Data — Specific Disclosures
When you comment on or message our Instagram account, we use Meta's Instagram Graph API to receive your comment or message and to send you an automated reply.
Specifically, we collect and store: your Instagram user ID (an internal identifier provided by Meta), your public username, the content of your comment or message, and the post your comment was on. We do this so we can: (a) reply to your inquiry, (b) link the inquiry to a relevant business listing on our website, and (c) follow up if you've expressed interest but haven't yet provided contact details.
Automated replies are sent only in direct response to actions you initiate (your comment or your message). We never message Instagram users who have not first engaged with us.
4. WhatsApp Data — Specific Disclosures
When you message our WhatsApp Business number, we use Meta's WhatsApp Business Platform (Cloud API) to receive and send messages. Your messages are processed via Meta's infrastructure and stored in our customer database for the purpose of responding to and following up on your inquiry.
We will only initiate a WhatsApp conversation with you if you have either (a) messaged us first, or (b) submitted a form on our website giving us permission to contact you on WhatsApp.
5. How We Store and Protect Your Data
Your information is stored in a secure cloud database protected by industry-standard encryption at rest and in transit. Access is restricted to authorised members of our brokerage team for the purpose of serving your inquiry.
We retain your data for as long as is necessary to:
- Service your active inquiry,
- Maintain ongoing client relationships,
- Meet our regulatory recordkeeping obligations as a UAE-licensed brokerage.
If your inquiry becomes inactive and there is no regulatory reason to retain your data, we will delete it on request or after a reasonable period.
6. Sharing Your Data
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with other clients, prospects, advertisers, or any third party for marketing or commercial purposes. Your contact details are never shared with another buyer, seller, tenant, or landlord.
The only access to your information is limited to:
- Internal brokers and staff — who need it to serve your inquiry.
- Service providers we rely on to operate, including our cloud hosting and database providers, and Meta (for Instagram and WhatsApp messaging delivery). These providers process data on our behalf under their own privacy and security commitments.
- Government authorities — only when legally required.
7. Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Request deletion of your data at any time. On receiving a deletion request, we will remove your personal information from our active systems promptly, except where we are required by UAE law to retain certain records — in which case we will tell you what we must keep and for how long.
- Request a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
- Request correction of inaccurate information.
- Withdraw your consent to receive messages from us at any time.
- Lodge a complaint about how we have handled your data.
